Today my dad and I learned how to SOLDER!!!
We used a soldering iron and solder to make an led light circuit! At first I had no idea on how to use it. Soon, I picked up the soldering iron and started to solder! It was difficult at first because we didn’t know how to get the solder onto the tiny circuit board. Eventually my dad looked it up and then we finally knew how to do it correctly. The way you solder on a circuit board is by putting your iron on the copper rings around the holes, let that sit for just a few seconds, and then put the solder on the iron, and move it up and down until it is melted! Once that is completed then you can now say you can solder! No matter what you do, DO NOT touch the iron, it is extremely HOT!!!!
I read this book called: Ten Good and Bad Things About my Life (So Far) .
I loved reading this book because it was about this girl who was in the fifth grade and on the first day of school she was assigned to write an essay, and include an outline, of her summer vacation. During most of the book it seems like she is talking to you and explaining her summer. You can, however, tell that she is writing this down because of the font changes. In the end, it shows a copy of her outline, and to me she said a lot for the small amount that was on her paper.
I can feel where she is coming from, in most of what she is saying.
I got this book from the public library near me.

I have an assignment to write about a crystal radio that I made.
What I liked about this project was testing it out because you never really know if you’re going to hear something. Even though I didn’t hear anything I still enjoyed it because I felt like it was an adventure!
However, as with almost every experience, there is always something you do NOT like! For me, that was when I had to make my tuning coil. The reason why I didn’t like that part was because that was not engaging. I had to stand there and turn and turn and turn 25 coils and then 90 coils, so, I really thought that it was boring!
My radio did not work so we had to troubleshoot. My dad and I did a few things to help, like switching to different areas for ground, putting on a longer antenna to try to get better signal, and we even bought a crystal radio kit. Sadly, nothing we did helped, but we are still working on it and also we plan to to go to a radio station and see if we can get better signal and hopefully we can get some sound!
This project stimulates my desire to learn and do more things with electronics because I am not giving up on making it work so that keeps me wanting to learn more about electronics! Adding on to that fact, we even got a soldering iron and circuit boards so my dad and I can learn how to create a working circuit board!

This is the video that we followed to make our first crystal radio:
Yesterday was the coolest day ever!!
“What happened?” you ask. Well, my family was just watching the Big Bang Theory, and out of nowhere my mom started saying “ice cream truck, ice cream truck, ice cream truck!”
My dad, my brother and I ran out of the house. My brother and I were barefoot. Then my dad told us to hurry up and get on our shoes so, we ran back up the hill and got on our shoes. My shoes were still in my hands as I ran towards the truck I stopped at the curb, slid on my shoes and kept on going. At that point I had ran so much I felt like throwing up. Very soon, the ice cream truck was the street we were on, it pulled to the curb, and we got our very first ice cream from an ice cream truck.
This was exciting because not only was it our first-ever experience with an ice cream truck, but the owners said they would come every Sunday! We just moved into this house and had never experienced this before.
Looks like our Sundays are going to be pretty sweet!
Don’t you worry there will be more for learning in pajamas!
“Hello”! I yell I can’t understand anyone and I don’t think they can understand me .
It all started when I was transported to a new planet. I don’t know where I am, but I know it’s not Venus because I have been there before. I try to understand but all they ever give me are books. Soon, I am piled with them I can’t help but read them. I realize they are trying to help me! they gave me books called English to Borg, Spanish to Borg, French to Borg, and lots of others. Eventually, I can sort of understand them but I still have to read my book.
Out of nowhere I heard screams everyone bowed down but me. I can’t help but to be scared for who knows what that means. Then all alien eyes were on me waiting me to bow down. I got the point really soon after that I got on my knees “boinharyoi”she yelled “in English that means………time to eat?” I read “oh no” I wanted to run but I couldn’t I will die no matter what I do. When we all got up I hid behind a building hoping what they call lunch won’t call me dinner. All I heard were rattles. “I was right” I whispered. my friends on earth and I made a deal about what aliens ate and I said rattlesnakes. I peer passed the building and see everyone eating but as I look back “YOUR MAJESTY!” she looked confused I realized I said that in English so I said it in Borg, she was still confused I bowed down and then she got angry. Why are you not eating?” she asked in Borg. So I told her I wasn’t hungry. She told me that her customs stated that “all new Borgs or aliens must EAT”. she looked around the corner, so I did as well, EVERYTHING was gone that means that I do NOT have to eat! Then the queen offered me to stay in the castle and of course I accepted. In the morning I was sent to the dining room and the waiters gave me what looked like a Poptart and really smelled good. I took one bite into it and it tasted just like fresh cherries. Later on I found out that that was not a pop tart it was….. Rattlesnake!!! That’s when I found out that I like rattlesnake. The world is rocky in some areas and others it’s slimy. The Borgish people are purple and pink for girls and blue and orange for guys. I saw some of the boys with broncos t-shirt so I told them “go broncos”!! then EVERYONE said “DUCK” in Borg out of nowhere flying broncos were everywhere. Everyone started circling me, I was scared, and I didn’t know what to do. All know is that this is one strange planet and at this point I hope this is all a dream!
TO BE CONTINUED…………….
Field trips: on 9-6-16 I went to the beach with my family to go fishing. At the beach my dad and aunt and uncle had to teach me how to fish since the first time i went i didn’t even have a hook on my rod and it was so long ago that forgot. When we got to the beach we quickly got started the first person to catch something was me! I, sadly, caught a dead crab.
After a little while of fishing my brother and I started to play in the water. While we were playing the current would move us around so when we were trying to avoid a spot we would go to it any ways!
Soon after that we went back to fishing. I felt strong tugs on my fishing rod so I started pulling the string out of the water and reeling it in.
I got a flounder!! Eventually the fish was out of the water! Then the hook broke off! I was very, very upset because now that fish has to live with a hook in it.
When we were heading back home we got to ride the ferry! It was cool because then I got to say that I rode a boat and I could find out if I have sea sickness!
Early into the trip while my uncle was fishing some type of shell came up on the shore. That is why I was assigned to find what this shell was the shell looked like this:
The way I found out what this was is I looked up strange shells at the beach and It turns out it is called a horseshoe crab shell so I looked up more pictures and found out whatever killed it ate all of it. If it was still alive it would have looked like this:
My day at the beach was awesome! I hope to share some more fun times with you on learning in pajamas!
The early church fathers “shaped” the churches with their own teaching and with their life examples. My parents have shaped me by their teachings and life examples.
My parents have had an important impact in my life because I am ALWAYS with them. I’m not saying that that’s a bad thing, I am saying that since I live with them I am with them a lot. They have also taught me to learn from my mistakes and those made by others.
I think that my dad has actually had the most impact on my lifestyle and what I learn. Plus, since I am with him everyday I learn a lot of things from him even when I am out of school because he teaches me things every day! He teaches me about law and what’s actually happening in the real world.
Even though I am with my dad more, I still learn things from my mom. My dad teaches me by educating me from school while my mom teaches me with both her life examples and her teachings. For example, her life example for me is that she is very talented at math and she has a really good job and that shows to me that if you work hard enough on what you want, you can achieve it! Since my mom has a great job as an accountant she can also teach me math. she teaches me from both her life examples and as a teacher.
In closing, my family really influences and makes an impact in my life choices.
